How can I get files from Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus to work on MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 17 Version?

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 7 and found that Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus would not work on it so I purchased MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 17 there today and found that I could not load files properly from the older version. I keep getting a error message entitled "File Not Found" and the options to "Retry", "Skip", "Skip to All", "Directory", or "Cancel". When I choose "Skip to All" the file loads but all the videos that I edited in there are gone and I'm left with just things like text! I'm so disappointed!!!
